June 9, 2015 by 250 Beers
This coming Sunday, June 14, is the annual Brisbane City2South race. To be pedantically correct, it’s the Brisbane Times City2South presented by Westpac.
For the second year running, Brisbane’s bar runners – a group of semi-fit runners from Brisbane’s craft beer community – are running the 14 kilometres for a nominated charity.
Their chosen charity for 2015 is R U OK? – a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to encouraging all Australians to regularly and meaningfully ask anyone struggling with life, “Are you ok?”
The 14-strong team of runners communally known as team ‘Blood, Sweat & Craft Beers’ have set their target high – aiming to raise $10,000 in donations. It’s an achievable target because – at the time of writing – the combined current tally of donations sits at just under $6,000. I’m sure you’ll agree that what Blood, Sweat & Craft Beers have done to date is nothing short of amazing. They’d be pretty pumped right now!
Think how elated they would be if they hit $10,000 in donations?
Think how many people struggling to get a grip on life they’d be able to help if they handed over ten grand after the race?
Here’s how YOU can help…
Firstly, this coming Thursday 11 June, Brewski and Tippler’s Tap will both be tapping a karma keg of Stairway To Hefen – a 4.7% oatmeal hefeweizen brewed by the runners at Newstead Brewing Co. The day after, on Friday 12 June, 4 Hearts’ Pumpyard in Ipswich will be doing the same.
Go to these venues and pay whatever you want to for a glass of it remembering to give generously. Please. That’s 150 litres of beer available for karma. If everybody donated $10 for a schooner, the team would welcome more than $3,000 into the coffers.
Secondly, if you can spare a few extra buckeroonies, you can donate online by clicking HERE.
Let’s help these guys and gals help others.
