A few weeks ago, half a dozen Brisbane beer bloggers (including myself) joined forces and brewed a beer with Bacchus Brewing at their Capalaba brewery for Bacchus’ forthcoming Brumalia beer festival.
There are 25 collaboration brews due to be unveiled for the event – collaborations brewed specifically for the two day festival on June 20th/21st. Each and every one is a dark beer. It’s winter after all.
If you search Wikipedia for the word ‘Brumalia‘ you’ll quickly realise that there is no better name for the event. A snippet reads:
“Brumalia was an ancient Roman, winter solstice festival honouring Saturn/Cronus and Ceres/Demeter, and Bacchus in some cases.”
Now, talking of names, us beer bloggery folk need YOUR help. We’d like YOU to name our beer for us. Sooo, we’ve set up a competition…and you could win yourself a Brumalia tshirt. All you need to do is email your entry to firstname.lastname@example.org before midnight on Saturday 6th June. You can enter as many times as you like but only emails to this address will be accepted.
The beer itself is a Black Saison so keep that in mind. Perhaps, also consider that we’re bloggers, or maybe that the beer contains a new hop variety called ‘Equinox’. It’s up to you but don’t be afraid to get creative and a bit crafty.
The winner will be decided by myself, Jason from Brews & Bacon, Judd from Brewed, Crude & Bitter, Darren from Craftbeerscapade, Roger from RPM Beer, Food, Random and Instablogger David from BeerFoodBrisbane.
