It seems like only recently that Marty Keetels walked away from his job as a lawyer in what appeared to be a vain attempt to bring Brisbane a craft beer and cider festival. It was actually well over a year ago.
True to his word though Marty has done it. The two-day Beer InCider Experience kicks off tomorrow – Saturday 20th September – at Albion Park Raceway.
The festival opens on both days at 10.00am and will feature 35 breweries presenting more than 130 beers and ciders. Click HERE for a full listing of the beverages available.
If you haven’t yet done so, you can still grab pre-purchased tickets online by clicking HERE. This worthy cost saving is only valid until 11.30pm TONIGHT so get into it! Non-discounted tickets will be available at the gates on both days.
The three hosts of Brisbane’s Triple M breakfast show – The Grill Team – have each collaborated with a different Brisbane brewery to create a beer especially for the event. Michelle and Bacchus Brewing have come up with a white chocolate pilsner, Ed and Newstead Brewing have designed a coffee inspired black lager plus Marto and Green Beacon have concocted a citrus golden ale. There will be a polling booth open for the duration of the festival so that festival goers can vote for The Beer InCider Experience Triple M Brewing Champion.
I’ll be there on Sunday hosting an informal session with a few successful bloggers from around the country that are in town for the 2014 Eat, Drink, Blog conference. After that, I’ll be embracing some of the fine beers on offer. I might even try a few ciders too!
See you there!
