Riverlife’s Five Flavours

March 4, 2014 by 250 Beers

It’s been such a busy year so far in Brisbane where beer is concerned. There’s such a large amount of things happening around town these days that not a week passes me by without a beer oriented event or two catching my attention.

In the coming weeks I have the World’s Greatest Shave shenanigans happening at Newstead Brewing (sponsors welcome) and Brisbane has the largest, week-long celebration of beer that it has ever seen fast approaching at the end of March.

However, before all that, it’s time for the Riverlife team to shine yet again with the fourth incarnation of their Five Flavours event at Lower River Terrace, Kangaroo Point. It’s happening this coming Saturday, 8th March.

Five Flavours is not all about the beer. Good beer is integral to the logistics of course however, there are two other key ingredients; food and entertainment. As opposed to beer-only events where the clientele are present solely for the beer, Five Flavours attracts a completely different crowd looking to tick a few more boxes. With the backdrop and river scenery that Kangaroo Point offers, who can blame them?

If I’m completely honest, I found the idea of proposing Five Flavours to Mrs 250 Beers a pleasant one as she was always likely to be more receptive to this sort of event as opposed to something that is beer, beer, beer.

Having previously hosted Bacchus Brewing, Holgate and Mornington Peninsula beers it’s the turn of Moo Brew this time and I’m really looking forward to it. All five of Moo Brew’s core range will be showcased; Pilsner, Hefeweizen, Belgo, Pale Ale and Dark Ale.

With a mouth-watering tapas menu to choose from and sounds from five live acts performing a mix of relaxing soul and acoustic pop tunes, I’ll be getting in early!

As a sign of Brisbane’s growing thirst for good beer and approachable event management, Five Flavours is now at full capacity for the event. This is fantastic news! Well, it is if you managed to secure yourself a ticket. If you weren’t so lucky all is not lost as I intend to bring you a full report in the near future.

It’s worth keeping an eye on the Five Flavours website and liking the Facebook page to keep up to date on future events. I have no doubt that the next one will sell out even quicker than this one!
