I cracked open a can of XXXX Gold last Friday night.
There I said it. God, it feels better to get it out in the open.
There are two reasons why I sinned…
Firstly, it was taking up precious space in my beer fridge (a few leftovers remain from a family member’s visit a few weeks ago). The second reason was that I’ve been a little bit under the weather – suffering from the dreaded man-flu – and wasn’t in the mood for a beer. I figured a Gold fitted the bill.
Yeah, ridicule me. Talk to the hand. Whatever.
I could have had water right? Yep, but I actually treated the Gold as a leveller. In a strange way, the lack of everything and absolute nastiness of it promotes everything that is good about Australia’s craft brewers.
Now to fill that void in the fridge…
